Wooden Soap Dish

Beautiful handcrafted wooden soap dish made by the talented Paddy at O’C Woodturning & Design, in Co.Tipperary.
The dish is made from Iroko wood, which is a tropical hardwood, and comes from FSC managed forests in central and western Africa. Often called African teak or poor mans teak it is unrelated to teak, but it is a hard, durable wood with a lot of natural oils, which make it particularly good for using with pieces that are going to come into a lot of contact with water.
This soap dish is sealed with linseed oil and then finished with beeswax which protect the wood from the water. The dish is designed with a tapered bottom to allow the water to run off the soap and dish, allowing your soap to dry out properly and therefore last longer.
You can buy the dish on its own or with a bar of my natural, aromatherapy soap. If you choose to get a soap with your dish they will be tied up with some of my naturally dyed, recycled ribbon - the perfect gift!
