I have a confession to make. I’ve never been a lover of Christmas cards, the generic bog standard ones don’t do anything for me – but then I discovered all the beautiful cards made by Irish creatives. Over the few years I have taken great pleasure in ordering stunning cards that are works of art and I’ve loved sending them and knowing they bring joy to others.
Here are some gorgeous cards for you to buy:
WATSONS CHRISTMAS CARDS
These are not only beautiful but there’s a lovely story behind them.
Watson is a rescue dog who was adopted from Cork Pound in January 2018 and he is the inspiration behind these designs.
So buy the cards and make Watson’s tail wag.
HILARY GLYNN DESIGN
Hilary Glynn has a Christmas Card Collection and they are all just beautiful.
Hilary is an artist and surface pattern designer based in Dublin, Ireland.
She’s inspired by nature, wildlife and the quirks of everyday life
AT IT AGAIN
At It Again has a set of four literary Christmas cards inspired by James Joyce’s Ulysses and Dubliners. You’ll love their unique style of design and quirky way of celebrating Irish literature.
ALL AROUND THE SUN
This brand has a card collection called ‘Celebrate with Joy’,
these are colourful and charming and perfect to let someone know you are thinking of them, without mentioning Christmas.
ENAGH FARRELL
This next one has a collection of seven cards featuring pencil drawings.
The cards are intended as a way to celebrate nature in winter or an alternative Christmas card, and are blank for you to add your own message.
DUCK BLUE
Duck Blue wishes you a Nollaig Shona with their Irish themed Christmas cards. Ten per cent of the sales goes to Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.
CORA MURPHY
A beautiful box of art cards, these aren’t Christmas themed but they are abstracted landscape paintings from Cora’s art work.
They range from the Kerry Bogs to the Mayo lakes and the many miles in between along the Wild Atlantic Way.
So there you have it, my suggestions of cards to send this Christmas. All of these are guaranteed to bring a smile to those who are lucky enough to receive them!
MERRY CHRISTMAS from all at the Biscuit Marketplace x
